Quick Verdict
The benchmarksutra Mouse Score rates every mouse out of 100 by giving it seven ratings out of 10, then weighting those ratings for what you will use the mouse for. Under the General profile, the top scorer today is the Razer Viper V3 Pro at 88/100 (A tier), ₹9,999 on Amazon.in, and the best office pick is the Logitech MX Master 3S at 85/100, ₹5,795 on Flipkart.
This page explains how the benchmarksutra mouse rating method works, so you can check any score in our mouse guides yourself.

How we rated these: Researched, not hands-on tested. Scores come from official specs, Indian prices checked on 5 November 2026 and the benchmarksutra Mouse Score. See how the benchmarksutra Mouse Score works.
Why does benchmarksutra score mice?
Mouse listings in India are full of large numbers: 26,000 DPI, 8,000 Hz, 100 million clicks. Those figures do not tell you whether a mouse suits your hand, your desk or your budget. A ₹999 Bluetooth mouse and a ₹13,495 esports mouse solve different problems.
So we built one fixed method. Every mouse gets the same seven ratings from official specs and Indian prices. Then each buyer type gets its own weighting. A gamer and an accountant see different rankings from the same ratings.
What are the seven rows?
Row | What we rate | Main inputs |
|---|---|---|
Sensor | Tracking quality | Sensor model, maximum IPS and acceleration, DPI steps, lift-off adjustment, known sensor faults |
Responsiveness | How fast your input reaches the PC | Polling rate (wired and wireless) and wireless technology |
Build & switches | Durability | Switch type (optical or mechanical), rated clicks, shell, feet, cable |
Comfort & shape | Fit for long use | Weight, dimensions, grip styles, handedness, vertical angle or thumb rest, size options |
Connectivity & battery | Wireless freedom | Wired, 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth, multi-device, official battery life, charging |
Software & features | Control | Buttons, onboard memory, Windows and Mac software, scroll wheel, gestures |
India value | What an Indian buyer pays and gets | Best current price on Amazon.in or Flipkart, India warranty, service network |
We do not rate click latency from our own measurements yet, because we have not tested hardware in-house. Responsiveness is rated from published polling rates and the wireless technology the maker states.
How do we rate each row?
Each row is rated out of 10 using fixed rules. Half points are allowed. The main rules:
Row | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|
Sensor | Current flagship sensor 9–10; previous flagship 8–9; mid-range gaming sensor 7–8; office optical sensor 5–6; +0.5 for glass tracking on office mice |
Responsiveness | 8 kHz capable 9.5–10; 4 kHz 9; 1 kHz gaming (wired or wireless) 8; office 2.4 GHz 6; Bluetooth only 4–5 |
Comfort & shape | Gaming mice by weight: up to 60 g 9+, 61–80 g 8, 81–100 g 7, over 100 g 6. Ergonomic mice by wrist angle and thumb support |
Connectivity & battery | Wired only 4; 2.4 GHz only 7; 2.4 GHz + Bluetooth 8; multi-device 2.4 GHz + Bluetooth with 70+ hours 9–10 |
India value | Price against the other six rows; −1 if warranty is under one year or there is no India service; +0.5 for a two-year India warranty |
Comfort is judged against the mouse's intended use. A vertical mouse is not marked down for weighing 125 g, because nobody flicks a vertical mouse across a desk. A gaming mouse is.
When a maker does not publish a figure, we rate on what is published and say so in the post. We never guess silently.
What are the five profile weights?
The same seven ratings are weighted differently for five buyer types. Every column adds up to 100.
Row | General | Gaming | Wireless | Ergonomic | Wireless gaming |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Sensor | 15 | 25 | 10 | 10 | 20 |
Responsiveness | 10 | 20 | 10 | 5 | 20 |
Build & switches | 15 | 15 | 10 | 10 | 10 |
Comfort & shape | 20 | 15 | 15 | 35 | 15 |
Connectivity & battery | 15 | 5 | 30 | 10 | 15 |
Software & features | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 |
India value | 15 | 10 | 15 | 20 | 10 |
Total | 100 | 100 | 100 | 100 | 100 |

General balances everything, with the most weight on comfort. Used in Best Mouse in India.
Gaming puts 45 points on sensor and responsiveness. Used in Best Gaming Mouse in India.
Wireless gives connectivity and battery 30 points. Used in Best Wireless Mouse in India.
Ergonomic gives comfort and shape 35 points and India value 20. Used in Best Ergonomic Mouse in India.
Wireless gaming starts from Gaming and moves 5 points each from Sensor and Build to Connectivity & battery. Used in Best Wireless Gaming Mouse in India.
How is the score calculated?
Score = sum of (rating × weight) ÷ 10, rounded to the nearest whole number. Here is the Logitech MX Master 3S under the General profile:
Row | Rating /10 | Weight | Points |
|---|---|---|---|
Sensor | 7.5 | 15 | 11.25 |
Responsiveness | 6 | 10 | 6 |
Build & switches | 8.5 | 15 | 12.75 |
Comfort & shape | 9 | 20 | 18 |
Connectivity & battery | 9.5 | 15 | 14.25 |
Software & features | 9.5 | 10 | 9.5 |
India value | 8.5 | 15 | 12.75 |
Total | 100 | 84.5 → 85/100 |
In one line: (7.5×15 + 6×10 + 8.5×15 + 9×20 + 9.5×15 + 9.5×10 + 8.5×15) ÷ 10 = 84.5, which rounds to 85/100.
The same ratings give the MX Master 3S 86 under Wireless and 80 under Gaming. That is the point of profiles: it is an excellent office mouse and an ordinary gaming one.
What do the tiers mean?
Tier | Score | What it means |
|---|---|---|
S | 90+ | Best in class for that profile |
A | 80–89 | Strong pick, few compromises |
B | 70–79 | Good, with clear trade-offs |
C | 60–69 | Acceptable for basic or narrow use |
D | Below 60 | Avoid unless niche use case |
These are the same tiers used on every benchmarksutra score. In our buying guides, if a price band has no mouse at 70 or above, we say so instead of forcing a pick.
Top 10 mice by General score
An example of the method in action: the ten highest General scores across all 41 mice we rated.
Rank | Mouse | General score | Tier | ₹ price | Retailer |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Razer Viper V3 Pro | 88 | A | ₹9,999 | Amazon.in |
2 | Logitech PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE | 87 | A | ₹13,495 | Amazon.in |
3 | Logitech PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 | 85 | A | ₹12,995 | Amazon.in |
4 | Logitech MX Master 3S | 85 | A | ₹5,795 | Flipkart |
5 | Razer Basilisk V3 Pro | 84 | A | ₹9,495 | Amazon.in |
6 | Logitech MX Master 4 | 83 | A | ₹10,495 | Amazon.in |
7 | HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Wireless | 83 | A | ₹4,899 | Amazon.in |
8 | Corsair M75 Wireless | 82 | A | ₹2,917 | Amazon.in |
9 | Razer DeathAdder V3 | 82 | A | ₹4,495 | Amazon.in |
10 | Logitech G309 | 80 | A | ₹6,495 | Flipkart |

Note how close the top ten are. Nine of them sit between 82 and 88. Small differences in price or warranty move mice up or down, which is why India value is its own row.
Where does our data come from?
Specs: manufacturer product pages, spec and support pages, manuals and warranty pages, India sites first.
Prices: Amazon.in and Flipkart, checked on 5 November 2026. We name the retailer next to every price.
Warranty: the maker's warranty page. Where no India-specific term is published, we say so.
Never used: other review sites' scores, rankings, wording, tables or charts. Our ratings are our own.
Where a maker's own pages disagree, for example two different battery figures on one product page, we report both or leave the figure out.
What does "Researched, not Tested" mean?
Every mouse post carries this label. It means the scores come from official specs, Indian prices and our fixed rules. We have not held these mice, measured their latency or used them for weeks.
We think this is still useful. Most of a mouse's value is decided by facts you can check: weight, sensor, polling rate, battery, warranty and price. But it is not the same as a hands-on review, and we will not call it one.
What will change when we test hands-on?
The label on tested mice will change from "Researched" to "Tested".
Responsiveness can move by up to one point either way once we have a measured click latency.
Sensor ratings can be adjusted for tracking faults we observe, such as lift-off or smoothing issues.
Comfort ratings will reflect real hand sizes and grips, not only weight and dimensions.
Battery ratings can use measured hours instead of maker claims.
We will publish what changed and why, mouse by mouse.
Checklist: how to read a benchmarksutra mouse score
Check which profile the score uses. A gaming score and an office score answer different questions.
Look at the row ratings, not only the total. A low row can matter more to you than the total.
Check the price date. Our prices were checked on 5 November 2026 and change often.
Check the India warranty line for your brand.
Remember the label: researched, not hands-on tested.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Mistake 1: Comparing scores across profiles
A Gaming 82 and a Wireless 82 are not the same thing. Compare mice within one profile.
Mistake 2: Chasing DPI
Every sensor in our top ten goes far beyond the DPI most people use. Sensor quality is more than the maximum DPI figure.
Mistake 3: Ignoring weight and shape
Comfort carries the most weight in three of our five profiles. A mouse that does not fit your hand will not feel premium.
Mistake 4: Treating MRP as the price
Indian listings often show a high MRP. We score on the selling price we found, and we name the retailer.
