BenchmarkSutra exists for one reason: to help Indian buyers compare smarter and buy better.
We are an India-first platform focused on consumer electronics, appliances, buying guides, product comparisons, and value-driven recommendations for Indian buyers. Most gadget websites try to do everything at once – news, launches, rumors, specs, deals, rankings, and reviews. That creates scale, but it also creates noise. BenchmarkSutra is being built with a narrower focus: clear comparisons, practical reviews, benchmark-led thinking, value-for-money analysis, and buying advice grounded in Indian realities.
We are a two-Founder team with a shared interest in one thing: making product decisions clearer, sharper, and more useful for real buyers.
The mind behind the insights
Akhil Verma
Co-Founder, BenchmarkSutra
Akhil brings over a decade of experience in market research and benchmark assessment operations, including managing teams in benchmark-focused work. His professional work is rooted in understanding how products perform, how markets behave, and how decision-making changes when buyers are looking for real value rather than marketing noise.
Shwetank Pandey
Co-Founder, BenchmarkSutra
Shwetank brings over a decade of experience in the technology domain with deep analytical work across product evaluation, comparison, and decision-focused analysis. His work is centered on understanding what makes one option more valuable than another, especially when the difference is not obvious from specs alone.
Our passion lies in decoding the complexity of the Indian consumer market. We believe the real advantage lies in identifying the right signals, separating noise from substance, and turning analysis into better decisions.
There are no perfect decisions. There are decisions that are more valuable, and decisions that are less valuable. BenchmarkSutra is built to help buyers make the more valuable ones.
What we do
We look at products the way a serious buyer should:
- Which option is better for the price?
- What are the real trade-offs?
- What works best in Indian conditions, budgets, and usage patterns?
- What is worth buying now, and what is not?
We are not interested in repeating brand claims or publishing content for volume alone. We are interested in clarity.
Our approach
Compare clearly
We aim to make side-by-side decision-making easier, especially in categories where many products look similar on paper but differ meaningfully in real-world value.
Stay India-first
A recommendation that works in the US or Europe is not automatically the right recommendation in India. Pricing, availability, service support, electricity usage, climate, warranty experience, and retailer trust all matter here.
Separate evidence types honestly
We believe trust starts with clarity. That is why we aim to make clear whether a recommendation is based on:
- direct evaluation.
- structured secondary research
- market, price, and value analysis
If something has not been tested hands-on, we will not present it as hands-on tested.
Respect the buyer’s money
BenchmarkSutra is not being built for hype, luxury signaling, or spec-sheet obsession. It is being built for buyers who want practical clarity before they spend.
How we evaluate products
Our analysis is shaped by the questions that matter most to Indian buyers, including:
- pricing and value analysis
- feature trade-off analysis
- suitability for Indian usage
- real-world buying context
- service and warranty consideration
We do not treat a long feature list as proof of value. A product has to make sense in the context of price, ownership, trade-offs, reliability, and actual use.
What makes BenchmarkSutra different
We are not trying to be the biggest gadget site. We are trying to be one of the most useful.
That means:
- fewer generic listicles
- less fluff
- more direct comparisons
- more practical buying guidance
- more attention to Indian pricing and value
- clearer disclosure on how each recommendation was formed
We are especially interested in product categories where comparison matters more than hype.
Our editorial stance
We believe trust is earned through restraint.
A product is not good just because a brand says it is good.
A long spec sheet does not automatically mean better value.
A popular product is not always the right one for Indian buyers.
We care about the full decision picture: performance, price, trade-offs, ownership realities, and whether the product actually makes sense in the Indian market.
Affiliate disclosure and editorial independence
BenchmarkSutra may earn affiliate income from some links on the site.
That said, affiliate relationships do not decide our rankings, recommendations, or conclusions. We do not rank products higher because they pay more. Our goal is to keep recommendations useful, evidence-based, and honest.
Corrections and updates
When a factual issue is pointed out, new evidence emerges, or a recommendation needs to be revised, we update the content and clearly reflect the revised version where appropriate.
Where BenchmarkSutra is headed
We are currently focused on consumer electronics and appliances. Over time, we plan to expand into kitchen appliances, large and small home appliances, gaming, and computer peripherals – while keeping the same India-first and evidence-based approach.
BenchmarkSutra is being built for buyers who want fewer claims, clearer comparisons, and better decisions.
Compare smarter. Buy better.
